Mini Travel Observations from Hokkaido, Part 2: Otaru Travel

Last September, I visited Otaru, Hokkaido, and was pleasantly surprised to find it to be a charming small town with a rich and diverse culture. I have compiled the photos I took there and edited them into YouTube Shorts. I hope you enjoy the experience through my lens and that one day, you too will have a wonderful time there.

Jr Otaru Coastal Scenery:

On the JR line approaching Otaru, the most memorable part is the stretch along the coast. The expansive view brings a sense of peace and joy, making it a precious moment during the journey. I believe any coastal railway can make passengers feel open-hearted, relaxed, and full of happiness.

First Impression:

Canal Boat Tour:

It’s rare for me to visit Otaru, but I highly recommend taking the canal boat tour. The voice guide is very thoughtful, and you can enjoy an even more beautiful view. Take your time to experience the unique tranquility and romance of being on the water.

Romantic Streets:

A street filled with exquisite sweets and glass crafts, offering not only charm and romance but also the chance to pick out your favorite souvenirs to create beautiful memories🍀.

A Wonderful Afternoon

A wonderful afternoon in Otaru,
Cherishing beautiful moments in this charming town.
Unforgettable dessert shops, cozy cafés,
And even the beautifully decorated windows of stores that have closed.
